Phase 1:
12kW Luxpower inverter with 20kWh combined LiFePo4, 6000 cycle batteries. This large guesthouse caters for international guests and loadshedding is not an option. Aircons, geysers, pool and kitchen all fired up and ready to go 24/7! This high-power inverter has an excellent power monitoring app that keeps the owner informed and in full control at all times, even remotely. It's just grand!
Phase 2:
11kW combined Canadian Solar panels (20X550W) Turning the already grand back-up system into a self-sufficient powerhouse!
Phase 3:
Added wireless geyser timers and replaced the elements with high efficiency low wattage ceramic elements. Solar heated water,! No Eskom needed here!
12kW Luxpower inverter with 10kWh battery back-up power feuled by 7.7kW solar power! (14X550W Canadian Solar Panels). This power producing, power storing system allows the owner to operate his workshop and run his household hastle free!
Combined 21kW Sako inverter capacity. 15kWh Sako battery back up power. 8kW solar power to charge batteries and run this guest house for uninterrupted holiday bliss. Expansion in mind, we are working towards eliminating this utility bill.
Replaced problematic 2nd life lithium batteries with two 10kW Freedom Won LiFePo4 batteries.
Replaced the DC circuit breaker with appropriate fuses and DC buzzbar box. Corrected the isolator ratings on the PV circuits.
Corrected the AC changeover circuits and the current ratings on the circuit breakers and a number of other little tweeks to comply with SANS regulations.
We also tended to the insufficient cabling on this system and brought it up to spec. The Victron Inverters can now finally operate at their full and reliable potential.
This upgrade has safeguarded the significant initial investment and secured it's longevity!
